After eating breakfast, the guys began wrapping up their belongings, carefully packing them away into their back packs when a passing hiker ran by Matt, slamming into him, knocking him down to the ground.

As Matt stumbled backwards, he threw his miniature frying pan into the air, before tripping on a piece of decaying wood; it crumbled between his legs as he fell down on his butt, both of his hands grasped at leaves.

The hiker’s face appeared startled, desperate and otherwise terrified. The hiker took two deep breaths and stated, “Oh, I’ll go get some help!” and, “Don’t worry, someone will help you.”

Matt then blurted out, “Oh… Oh, yeah, what the hell does that mean?”

The hiker bolted through the woods and was out of sight within seconds.

Noticing what happened, Damon and Jimmy rushed over to save some of Matt’s dignity, helping him get to his feet before Matt interrupted, “See, you guys, do you see what’s happened here?” “I just fell straight back on my butt in a hole full of leaves because some jackass on this trail decided to sneak up on us.”

“Ah, you can’t mean that guy tried to scare you on purpose.” Jimmy said as he knocked off some of the stubborn leaves that were still hanging to the back side of Matt.

“What I mean is, I think we should get off of this trail. What I mean is we should get out there and live like men. Live like, naturally, like the way we were made to live!”

“No”, Jimmy said, starting to challenge Matt’s idea.

“Shut up Jimmy and just listen for a minute. You never just listen to what I say. Ok, now listen. I want to challenge each one of you to follow me into those woods. Not the trail that leads from point A to point B. No, No, I mean I want to go out into the “woods” and really rough it. I want to know what it’s like to really live! Now what do you think? Are you with me? Come on, let’s do this, guys! You know this is probably the last time we are all going to be together or have this chance. Let’s do this hike the way the pioneers did, without the trail.”
